Hospitality with heart - inn culture like in former times.

Rare is it in our time, the eating - and inn culture. We continue to cultivate this tradition  with heart and passion in the fifth generation.

We, Andreas and Jeanette Ott, with all our hard-working and dedicated staff, run the Ott´s Hotel Leopoldshöhe, the Prinz Eugen restaurant, the Weinwirtschaft  and in summer the wonderful garden restaurant.

You will find us in the heart of the magnificent Markgräflerland wine-growing region, which stretches from Freiburg im Breisgau  to the Swiss border and produces some of the finest wines in Germany. The Markgräflerland is located  between two of the most beautiful cities in Europe, Freiburg im Breisgau on the German side and Basel in Switzerland. Both cities are always worth a weekend trip.

For Basel visitors, the tram is right in front of our door and takes you within a quarter of an hour right into the centre of the beautiful city of Basel with all its cultural and architectural highlights, the famous museums and of course the beautiful Rhine, which in the summer months warmly invites you to traditional Rhine swimming.

Basler Fastnacht, World Heritage Site and a special event in Switzerland, come and enjoy these 3 exciting days in Basel.

Back in the Leopoldshöhe, let yourself be pampered in our cosy rooms with selected local, international and seasonal delicacies, regional delicacies and traditional dishes and celebrate the pleasure of wine from our extraordinary wine list, whether by the bottle or by the glass, delicious drops are waiting for you.

Our culinary offer ranges from the hearty Alsatian sausage salad, the delicious tarte flambée to the pink roasted saddle of venison with homemade spaetzle and rose hip sauce. In the summer months enjoy crunchy salads, juicy sweet melons, tasty steaks and selected, crunchy fresh summer wines in our wonderful garden restaurant in the shade of the old trees.
